Vessel, Platform and Ladder Supports

General Information

ASEplas Vessel and Platform Supports provide thermal insulation between cold and cryogenic process vessels and their supporting structures.

Typical Product benefits include:

  •   Ice build up is reduced

  •   Increased use of lower cost carbon steel in place of stainless steel

  •   The vessel efficiency is improved

  •   Health & Safety: isolating process temperatures from operational personnel

To date, ASEplas Pipe Shoes have been utilised in the following Market sectors:

  •   Ethylene and general petrochemical plants

  •   Bulk pharmaceutical plants

  •   Offshore oil and gas platforms

  •   Onshore gas processing plants

  •   Refineries

  •   Liquid natural gas (LNG) plants

Atlantic Supports Engineering provide engineered solutions for cold vessel support requirements. Our service includes design thermal and stress calculations.

Supports are manufactured using ASEplas 1010 thermosetting composite materials giving excellent mechanical and thermal performance. Material benefits include:

  •   Corrosion free / zero maintenance / no protective coatings required

  •   High physical strength in all directions (unlike wood & laminated plastics)

  •   Resistant to UV and chemical attack

Atlantic Supports Engineering’s range of cold vessel ladder and platform supports provide thermal isolation between process vessels and their access ladders and platforms.

Background:
Atlantic Supports Engineering has collaborated with vessel and civil design engineers to offer solutions for combined structural and insulation requirements.

Discussions with leading petrochemical designers led to the design of the cold vessel platform bracket for ethylene towers enabling them to use carbon steel platforms (instead of stainless steel) giving considerable cost savings and other benefits. Involvement with many projects at the design stage has led to orders for a range of custom designed solutions for vertical and horizontal vessels, tanks and columns.

Product benefits:

  •   Increased use of lower cost carbon steel in place of stainless steel

  •   Ice build up is reduced, hence the ladders and platforms are safer to use

  •   The vessel efficiency is improved

Atlantic Supports Engineering also provide engineered solutions for cold vessel ladder & platform support requirements. Our service includes design thermal and stress calculations.

Supports are manufactured using ASEplas 1010 thermosetting composite materials giving excellent mechanical and thermal performance. Material benefits include:

  •   Corrosion free / zero maintenance / no protective coatings required

  •   High physical strength in all directions (unlike wood & laminated plastics)

  •   No significant water absorption

  •   Resistant to UV and chemical attack
