| Cable Cleats & Trefoils
ASEplas Cleats are able to support medium and high voltage power transmission cables. Typically from 33kV to 500kV. The ASEplas Cleats can be supplied with DTS cable slots. ASEplas Cleats are
Non metallic so therefore have no problems with dissimilar metals when
fixing to supporting structure or heat build up from magnetic field. They
are a cost effective alternative to aluminium, does not require epoxy
or other protective coatings.
ASEplas cleats were designed as a high strength durable product, capable of being used in the most arduous conditions. Here are a variety of drawings and photographs showing their application. Cable Cleats are available in the following configurations: U_type_Cable_cleat_(channel_mounted) T_type_Cable_cleat_(trefoil_configuration) ASEplas Cable Cleats have the following Material Properties:
The "safe working loads" shown in the specifications are applicable in all directions. These "SWL's" have been shown by subsequent more sophisticated analysis and laboratory testing to be very conservative. All Atlantic Supports Engineering's Cable Cleats have been subjected
to rigorous design analysis and laboratory testing to ensure that they
are fit for their purpose of supporting cables safely for a long period
of time in a variety of conditions. Design analysis uses the Finite Element
Method for stress and displacement calculations. We are fortunate in having
links with the Civil Engineering Department at the nearby University of
Wales, Swansea which is one of the premier FEM research units in the world.
